Job Summary:

The Manager of Financial Reporting will be responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely financial information for use by management and external stakeholders. Overseeing the implementation of new financial accounting and reporting standards, implementing reporting best practices, working with external auditors and accounting firms on technical accounting issues; and assisting in building out the external reporting function.


  • Direct and oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual filings and related public disclosures
  • Facilitate review and approval of quarterly and annual filings with external auditors, legal counsel and the Audit Committee
  • Monitor new accounting pronouncements under IFRS to ensure timely identification of emerging accounting pronouncements and their impact to the Company’s accounting and financial reporting
  • Work proactively with external auditors to address and drive timely closure of technical accounting matters
  • Oversee the ongoing development and maintenance of technical accounting policies, memos, and consultations
  • Serve as a technical resource on IFRS rules and regulations and engage with business partners to ensure all relevant accounting issues and complex transactions are identified and addressed
  • Assess and document the accounting impact and required disclosures for major transactions, including significant contracts, acquisitions, debt and equity offerings and other complex transactions
  • Comply with internal controls over financial reporting as required by NI 52-109
  • Potential to assist with accounting and financial due diligence on acquisitions, investment and potential complex business


  • University degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant field
  • Professional accounting designation is required – CPA/CA is preferred
  • Big 4 experience preferred
  • 5-7 years combined experience between public practice and industry experience, preferably at a publicly traded company
  • Thorough knowledge of IFRS; as well as continuous disclosure requirements
  • Superior knowledge of Excel and analytical reporting tools
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt; maintain focus and a high degree of accuracy while working with complex data in an environment of ever-changing deadlines, priorities and requirements
  • Effective communication skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a professional and collaborative relationship with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to lead and develop a team
  • Strong ethical compass in all business decision-making and interpersonal relationships
  • Motivated by a rapid business tempo and a desire to build a strong international company with a pristine reputation
  • Ability to operate strategically and/or operationally, as the situation requires
  • Manufacturing experience is considered an asset
